Day 1

Arusha Town

Your international inbound flights should be booked to arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Tanzania. Upon arrival, regardless of the time or airline, you will clear customs and immigration and confirm that you have collected all your luggage. Afterward, please proceed to the paging area outside the terminal, where you will find our Safari/Airport representative holding a pager displaying the DK Grand Safaris logo along with your surname or group name.
After a warm introduction, our representative will assist you with your luggage and escort you to your vehicle. You will then head to your city hotel for check-in and an overnight stay.
Mount Meru Hotel and Gran Melia are tranquil oasis situated at the foothills of Mount Meru, offering stunning views and pristine gardens overlooking the golf club—a perfect destination for your first night in Africa. Day 2

Tarangire National Park

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and set off on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, located approximately 120 km southwest of Arusha. This stunning park, named after the iconic Tarangire River, spans about 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles) and features a diverse landscape that includes Acacia woodlands, granitic ridges, river valleys, and expansive swamps, all punctuated by the striking silhouettes of towering African Baobab trees.
During the dry season, the river and swamps serve as vital lifelines for wildlife, drawing animals from far and wide in search of water. Tarangire National Park

The following day promises to be the highlight of your adventure as you embark on an exhilarating exploration of Tarangire National Park, navigating its diverse terrains, from lush Acacia woodlands to expansive seasonal swamps. The dry season, spanning from June to October, is the ideal time to visit, as the park bursts into life with the long-distance migrations of zebras and wildebeest. Lake Manyara National Park/ Ngorongoro Crater

After a delightful breakfast, you will check out and set off for Ngorongoro Crater, making a memorable stop at Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing and for a scenic picnic lunch along the way. Covering approximately 330 square kilometers (125 square miles), including a lake surface area of 230 square kilometers (89 square miles), Lake Manyara National Park has been famously described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.”

The park is renowned for its extraordinary tree-climbing lions, which are often seen lounging on branches, as well as its vibrant populations of flamingos that create stunning pink spectacles on the lake’s surface. Day 6

Serengeti National Park

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, check out and embark on your journey to Serengeti National Park. You’ll experience a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, taking in breathtaking views as you pass vibrant Maasai villages. Here, you can observe the locals grazing their cattle on the slopes of the Ngorongoro escarpment. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, with opportunities for game viewing until reaching Naabi Hills. This spot offers convenient facilities, including parking, restrooms, and a picnic lunch area.

Following a leisurely lunch, the official game viewing begins. You’ll set off to explore the vast savannah grasslands in search of the Serengeti’s abundant wildlife. Serengeti National Park

Depart
